Sticks and Stones
Friday, August 30 | 8:00pm - 9:00pm
A standup and improv crossover event.
Host Daniel Stern’s standup provides the inspiration for improvised scenes from a collection of improvisers led by Josh Telson.
The improvisation will lead to more standup; back and forth they will go.
“Stick and stones will break my bones,
but prov will never hurt me.”
Featuring Kevin Napier, Amy Condelle, Sara Nere
Daniel Stern is a former talk show host, a retired competitive eater, a screenwriter and a standup comedian. Stern sews absurd observations together with threads of unhinged wit; his performances are a frayed quilt of hilarious anarchy, earnest confessions and stories about riding the bus. He writes and performs sketch comedy, hosts all kinds of events, models and acts. Daniel podcasts with local news show Radio Spaetkauf and produces “Projectile, Baby” every month. Stern once took last place behind three children in an NBA Summer League half time dance-off.
Josh Telson is a comedian and filmmaker based in Berlin, Germany, where he lives with his wife and two daughters and refers to himself in the third person on the Internet. As a filmmaker, his work has been featured in film festivals around the world and has been seen on YouTube by a couple dozen people. As a comedian, Josh performs regularly in Berlin and Europe, including co-hosting the bi-monthly storytelling open mic Four Eyes, and as a founding member of “GLB“, Berlin’s premiere long form improv team. He is also co-creator of Tatort auf Englisch, and teaches improv at Comedy Café Berlin.
Please be aware that for the safety of our performers, staff and fellow audience members, masks (covering your mouth and nose) are now mandatory at all times at Comedy Café Berlin. (Except for that brief moment when you are taking a sip of a delicious beverage or a bite of a tasty sandwich). Our theatre and barroom are kept ventilated with open doors, windows and air exchange via fans.
To ensure safe distancing, space is very limited! Seating is only done in pairs and the price you see is for a pair of tickets (granting entry to 2 people). You may be able to purchase single tickets at the door if there is space.
Doors open 15 minutes before scheduled show time. Please be aware that seats may be released at show time and latecomers may be denied entry or given standing room entry.
No refunds on ticket sales!
Unless otherwise stated, all shows are in English.
Please enjoy a drink at the bar before and after the show! (It’s how we keep the doors open.)
